Neighbour Recounts Final Moments of Late Actress Allwell Ademola

LAGOS — Neighbours of the late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola have shared fresh details of the moments leading up to her death, shedding light on the distressing events that unfolded on the day she collapsed in her Lagos home. Ademola, aged 49, was reported to have suffered a sudden health crisis at her residence in Lagos late last December and was later confirmed dead at a hospital. She was laid to rest in Lagos on January 9. In a recent interview on the Talk2B podcast, a neighbour who asked not to be named described how the incident began with an alarming phone call from the actress, prompting immediate concern. The neighbour said she rushed to Ademola’s apartment with family members, only to find the door locked. After persistent knocking, Ademola eventually opened the door in visible distress, reportedly “gasping for breath.” Efforts to revive her at the scene included offering an energy drink, but it quickly became clear that her condition was critical. The neighbour recalled the urgency of the moment, noting that heavy rain and the actress’s inability to move her legs made the situation even more challenging. Describing the frantic attempt to get help, the neighbour said she ran to nearby streets seeking assistance, but struggled to find sufficient hands to carry Ademola into a vehicle to rush her to the hospital. Once in the car, Ademola reportedly became unresponsive, and by the time they reached medical care, doctors were unable to revive her. “We were very hopeful,” the neighbour said, reflecting on the painful realisation that their efforts had come too late.
